Generalnews / Help / Re: Auction Listed in the Wrong Category |

I believe the error was on your end, as I looked at the category structure and the submission form and everything looks good. Unfortunately the software is not designed to move auctions from one category to another. This would change the URL and thus make tracking an auction very difficult, and it would also create havoc with the featured auction rotation... although it is something I would like to be able to do at some point. In the meantime the only solution I can offer is you delete the auction and re-post in the correct category. Thanks, Admin |

Generalnews / Help / Re: HTML WILL "NOT" APPEAR IN DESCRIPTION ? |

I looked at the source code for your auction description and there is NO HTML in it. I see a couple of tabs but otherwise it is just normal text from beginning to end. Are you entering the HTML manually or using a program to generate it for you? You know you need to enter the HTML tags, not just copy/paste the way it looks after the tags have been applied in some other program. So for instance a paragraph looks like this: hello thanks for checking out my auction.<P> this is an auction for a movie dvd ... that will create a space between the two sentences, whereas if you post this: hello thanks for checking out my auction. this is an auction for a movie dvd... you will lose the space between the lines (the paragraph break) because we just interpret that as white space, you need to use the TAG to force the space. I hope that makes sense. |

Generalnews / General Discussion / Re: Google Base Feed |

I don't understand how our competitor can provide Google base feeds for all their sellers. Google is requiring that I manually set up each feed and that I am responsible for the seller adhering to the Google guidelines for listing requirements. So if I provide a google feed automatically to all of our sellers we will get shut down almost immediately for not adhering to Google policies such as using marketing slogans in auction descriptions and stuff like that. So basically I am trying to limit the Google feeds to our Seller Ad-Vantage subscribers so I can take the time to coach them so that their listings meet the Google Shopping guidelines. I do have automatic daily feeds ready to go, and I plan to hand select good sellers, but I cannot make it a basic perk for all sellers or Google would ban everyone at Auction Fire because of a few seller's breaking their guideline rules. |

I'll tell you this, most sites would have deleted your abusive comment and denied you your right to free speech. Basic verification is $3.00 and then you never have to pay anything again if you don't want. You can recoup your investment by referring a couple of friends since we are paying $2.25 for new user referrals. There are plenty of honest sellers here at Auction Fire but unfortunately a few bad apples, especially in the vehicles section gave this site a black eye. Please if anyone spots a sketchy auction, please report it immediately to admin@auctionfire.com so we can prove these naysayers wrong and make this the best free auction site ebay alternative. Green dot is right up there with Western Union as far as fraud is concerned... just another method of payment where the sender has no protection or ability to track who received the payment. DO NOT USE GREEN DOT or WESTERN UNION payments... when a seller requests that method for a car or high end electronics item you can assume its a scam. -Admin |
