It is tough going in the beginning because people would prefer to buy from a seller with an established feedback rating, meaning that they can be trusted. I am not trying to imply that you cannot be trusted, but people will consider it an unknown risk to do business with you.
If you have feedback at another auction site contact us and we will import your ratings for you.
Otherwise, the best way to get the ball rolling is to sell items for less than your competition so that buyers might take a chance on you to save money... once you get a few feedbacks, people will be less wary of you, you will begin to have a good reputation. After you get some positive feedbacks you can begin to charge more for your merchandise.
The other suggestion I have is to make sure your ads are long and fully descriptive. You can gain trust by really giving a good honest description. If there are some imperfections, go ahead and mention them,.... potential buyers will appreciate your honesty. You may even want to mention a blurb in your ad that you are new to online auctions so you really want to do a good job to get some positive feedback... someone will be willing to help you out, I am sure, especially if you are offering at a good price.
The other benefit to long descriptive ads, is that you will have more keywords, so more people will view your ad because it will match more search criteria.
I hope this helps and best of luck to you.
